PRACTICAL ACCESSORIZING: “A Bangal or two can go a long way”

I was never one for wearing crazy accessories. I have been through only a couple of accessory phases. 

There was that big bamboo earring phase. This was around the age of 18 and it was when the whole 80’s 90’s decades seemed to have rose from the dead and resurrected in everyones closets. I fell victim. 

Then there was my short lived necklace phase. Hmm, this phase never lasted long. I was never really good at picking out the perfect neckwear, with the perfect outfit to create styling ingenious. 

The final phase I embraced was the bangal phase. I’d swear I wore at least 50 bangals every single day of my life for about a year. They were all worn at one time on one arm/wrist. You could literally hear me coming a mile away. Some people thought it was weird and others liked it, especially people of indian decent.  I would have to say this was my favorite phase and it is still something that I turn to spice up an occasional  outfit. 

Even though, I don’t turn to the trend as much as I used to, I still have a bangal or two lying around my house. Come to think about it I keep forgetting to purchase new ones. I need to do that ASAP.

“POW POW POW FACTOR”: Team Work Makes the Dream Work 

It was fight night, Mayweather versus Cotto. I just knew Money May was gonna take it. I decided to keep it in and just relax. Besides, the fight always comes on the following week for free. But anyways, Ashley, My roommate was making her way out and she needed help deciding what to wear.

  Recently on a rainy day, while out, she picked up and this black and white scarf (as shown above) and on this night, she came up with this idea for her wear it as a shirt. After tying it up numerous different ways we came up with this strapless crop shirt that we decided to pair with a tan jean, a denim jacket and some brown tasseled booties…. 

We collectively decided to keep the make up simple with a poppy color for the lips, along with a retro pin-up hair du. 

Olive boyfriend cargo pant, black and white striped racerback shirt, black blazer and royal blue chunky heel booties.

ELY DAINE MODIFICATIONS: Sheer V-Neck Tee

I loved this tee but it did nothing to flatter my body. It was huge on me! so with that said, I decided to spruce it up with some scissors. Slashing the back of the tee gave it a little bit more flare than it initially had.

ELY DAINE MODIFICATIONS: Distressed Rocker Vest

So my sister owned this jean jacket for sometime. Over the years, some how, it magically landed inside my closet. With such a big fit, the other night I decided to “chop it up” with the jacket by turning it into a vest and distressing the rear of the jacket. Now, I simply can not stop wearing it!

Paired with the Leather jacket on one of the those nippy in between days, creates a great rocker vibe! :)
